ROSEMARY PFEIFFER is the first woman to be appointed as Family Law Commissioner in the Superior Court of San Mateo County. She received her B.A. and M.A. from San Francisco State University and her J.D. from the University of San Francisco Law School. After 10 years of private law practice, with specialization in family law, she was appointed Family Law Commissioner in 1987. She was named Woman of the Year in the 19th Assembly District in 1987 and received the Elinor Falvey Award, presented by the Women and Law Committee of the San Mateo County Bar Association. She is a member of the Women’s Center Honorary Board and lawyers planning committee and has served on the Judicial College faculty and the Family Court Services advisory committee.
