Eleanore Druehl Nettle

ELEANORE DRUEHL NETTLE was the first woman member of the Board of Trustees of San Mateo Community College District in 1956 and continued to serve on this Board for 33 years, acting as its president eight times. She has also been president of the California Advisory Council on Vocational Education and has served as chair of three county commissions; juvenile justice, delinquency prevention and narcotics inquiry. Currently, she is a member of the executive board of the San Mateo County Boards Association, the Hearing Board Panel of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, and the Executive Search Team for the Association of Community College Trustees. She has received numerous awards for her efforts in education and has been an active member of the League of Women Voters for 38 years.
