Ruth Nagler

RUTH NAGLER has focused her efforts on County and local problems and produced solutions. She was a prime mover as president of the San Mateo City Elementary School Board, in developing a parent-backed segregation plan which was widely accepted. As a consensus builder, she has heightened awareness of and pushed for answers to County housing, senior and health care issues. She has worked to empower women (approximately 48,000 whom have attended or taught her classes offered by the Community Education Program of the San Mateo County Community College District). She currently chairs Friends of the Advisory Council on Women and is a member of the League of Women Voters and American Association of University Women and has received numerous awards.
