Kristi Cotton Spence

KRISTI COTTON SPENCE was born, raised, educated and worked in San Mateo County and has been a persistent advocate for our children and families for more than 34 years. She has worked with the local and statewide bar associations, local courts, Jackie Speier’s Family Law Advisory Committee, radio and other avenues to bring about change, support and funding for children and family law issues. Kristi is a Family Law Specialist and Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. From 1995 to date, she has been named in the Best Lawyers in America. The list of Kristi’s professional and volunteer accomplishments is inspiring and shows her interest and deep concern in such related issues as education and adoption. Currently Kristi is on the Board of Crystal Springs Uplands School Association, the Advisory Board of the Legal Aid Society and the Courthouse Children’s Waiting Room. Kristi spearheaded a public hearing to address the family law crisis which sparked the recent movement of making children and family law issues a priority. She continues to urge more local resources to be made available to support our family law issues and the courts. Her involvement on so many related committees demonstrates her sincere personal commitment to ensure that every piece of the puzzle will be put into place. Our County is fortunate to have this family law expert to watch over our needs, to advocate and to lead our community.
