Miriam Gholikely

Miriam Gholikely, immediate past chairwoman of the San Mateo County Transit District Committee of the American Public Transit Association. She is past Chairwoman of the County Paratransit Coordinating Council, and one of the founding planners of Redi0Wheels, door-to-door transit service for mobility-impaired. In 1982, she won the Metropolitan Transportation Commission Grand Award for transit leadership. A senior Assemblywoman for San Mateo County, Ms. Gholikely has been a leader in senior affairs at the regional and national levels. After years as a Federal employee, she retired in 1982 as Assistant Director of Human Services for the City of Daly City, She and her husband, Alexander, have 2 children and 2 grandchildren.
