Women’s Hall of Fame

Eugenia Chen

EUGENIA CHEN is described by her nominator as the “quintessential student,” who has taken the most rigorous academic program at Mills High School and is still number one in her class of 327 and a National Merit semi-finalist. Offered the opportunity to attend the very selective Accelerated High School Student Program at UC Berkeley this year, she turned down to serve her elected term as Student Body President. Also an accomplished flautist and pianist, she was chosen most valuable player in tennis and badminton. Increasingly involved in her community, she has been chosen National Youth Ambassador for the Organization of Chinese Americans and will travel across the country, representing Chinese American Youth. She highly impressed the pediatric surgery team during an internship at the Lucille Salter Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford and was elected Supreme Court Justice at last summer’s Girl’s State. She is doing an internship with County Supervisor Mary Griffin and has worked with the Commission on the Status of Women in its ‘No on 209’ campaign. Her nominator says that “Whatever Eugenia does, she does well. She is as dependable on the courts as she is in the classroom.”
