Dorothy Grace Boyajian

DOROTHY GRACE BOYAJIAN of Burlingame. Ms. Boyajian is an elementary school teacher presently teaching 4th grade at Sunnybrae School in San Mateo Elementary School District. Ms. Boyajian and her students were active in the recent “Say No to Drugs-Red Ribbon Day” Campaign and Poster Contest and her students were awarded prizes for their work. The students in Ms. Boyajian’s class participated in the Children as peacemakers program by writing directly to world leaders exchanging their ideas and gifts, including a wall hanging that was sent to General Secretary Gorbachev last year. She brings the world to her classroom through guests from the media, letter writing, and the sharing of cultural differences with her students. Ms. Boyajian sits on the Commission of 200 to celebrate the Bicentennial of the Constitution, and her students are writing to the Chief Justices and other government officials for their insights on the value of the Constitution and our civil rights. She strives to bring cultural, academic, and creative excellence into the daily activities and studies that she assigns and believes that our greatest natural resources are our children.
