Edythe Miller

EDYTHE MILLER enjoys a wonderful relationship with her husband, four children and 14 grandchildren. Their family received “Family of the Year” award from San Mateo County. Edythe has been recognized for 50 years of service and hard work by the General Federation of Women’s Clubs. She has held numerous offices for the Redwood City Women’s Club, the Golden Gate District of Women’s Clubs and the California Federation of Women’s Clubs. She also does fund raising activities for these clubs as well as providing food, clothes and shelter for the Battered Women’s Organization. She has served as President of the San Mateo County’s American/Italian and Historical Associations. She is past President of the Association of Republican Women and belongs to other organizations and clubs as well. Surviving Ostomy surgery more than 34 years ago, she has given tirelessly to the San Mateo Ostomy Association serving as President, teaching ostomy care, speaking in retirement homes and hospitals, training nurses, raising money and appearing on TV and working with media. She has been honored many times by the Cancer Society, Stanford Hospital and UC San Francisco for her volunteer work with the Ostomy Association. Edythe is admired for her endless energy and hard work and serves as a model for both young and old, healthy or ill. She is proof that one person can make a huge difference in the lives of many people.
