Florence Rhoads

FLORENCE RHOADS has more than two decades of community service to her credit, including more than twelve years on the San Mateo City Council, with three terms as mayor. She also served on the Public Safety Committee of the League of California Cities, the Association of Bay Area Governments Executive Board and was chair of the San Mateo County Council of Mayors, the County Criminal Justice Council, and the San Mateo Parks and Recreation Commission. Ms. Rhoads also served on the following committees: San Mateo County Park Bond Committee; League of California Cities Leisure Services Committee; and the San Mateo Committee for Joint Use of Facilities with the School District. Other Affiliations include: the American Association of University Women; West San Mateo Homeowners’ Association; League of Women Voters; San Mateo Arboretum Society; Board of Directors of the Altar Guild of the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration; National Association of Parliamentarians; and the San Mateo Arthritis Project.
