Women’s Hall of Fame

Beverly Getchell Kaye

BEVERLY GETCHELL KAYE is one of the first women to enter the computer field as a systems engineer. She worked for 10 years at the Harris Corporation and was awarded several honors for her professional achievements. She is also the founder of the Holiday Project in the mid-peninsula area and was instrumental in bringing about a community service program with San Mateo County women’s correction facility known as the “Yarn Project”. The Holiday project provides an opportunity for people to visit those who are institutionalized (e.g. in hospitals, nursing homes, alcohol and drug rehabilitation, prisons, orphanages and psychiatric units).
