Helen Fisicaro

HELEN FISICARO was born to hard-working immigrant parents, one from Central America and the other Germany, who taught her the benefits of valuing diversity, committing to the community, setting goals and working hard for your dreams. After putting herself through City College, she attended night school earning a double Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and Human Management. While working her way up to be the San Mateo County Governmental Relations Representative for PG&E, she volunteered in numerous school activities for her children and has served on many Boards and Advisory Positions. In 1994 and 1998, she was elected to the Colma Town Council and has served as Mayor. Her list of volunteer work, too numerous to mentions, has been recognized by many organizations and groups. She is known as a “worker” as opposed to being an honorary member of any organization or committee. Helen has mentored high school students, been a top fundraiser for Diabetes and served as Director of the Human Investment Project, Inc. just to name a few. Bringing Christmas in April to the Town of Colma continues with the help of more than 40 volunteers each year. Helen’s ability to connect with people, see the bigger picture and look beyond boundaries is what makes her such a dynamic volunteer, elected official, professional in her work, and a friend.
