Marry Harris Evans

MARY HARRIS EVANS has a rich and varied background both professionally and as a volunteer. While attending the California College of Podiatric Medicine, she started an “Outreach Program” at Laguna Honda Hospital and in her early career as a podiatrist, she tended senior citizens in their homes, at no charge. At present Mary is Financial Advisor and Retirement Specialist with Dean Witter, responsible for assisting clients with portfolio management of their personal and institutional accounts. From 1982 to 1994 she was health and Safety Administrator with Varian. Over all, she has thirty years of experience in Human Resources, Health and Safety, Sales, Customer Service, Training, Curriculum Development and Financial Services. Throughout her long professional career, Mary has volunteered for many groups and causes. To name a few, she was recognized and awarded as an active volunteer for 15 years with California 4-H. She is one of the founders of the African-American Community Health Advisory Committee. She serves as President of the American Baptist Women of the West. She is also a trained mediator. In addition, Mary helped put together a Homeless Theatre Project, eventually attended by over 600 people.
