PAULA UCCELLI, Director of Public Relations and Assistant Harbor Master of Pete’s Harbor in Redwood City, has a long history of volunteer leadership in San Mateo County. She is on the Board of Directors of the Emergency Hunger Fund, the Sequoia Hospital Foundation, Kainos Independent Living Center for Developmentally Handicapped Adults, and the Peninsula Republican Association. Immediately after the devastating earthquake in Mexico City, the Redwood City Cares Committee, which she and her husband Pete are members, organized a benefit event which raised over $16,000 in relief funds. In 1989, she received the Outstanding Citizen Award from the Peninsula Times Tribune and the Redwood City American Legion; the Athena Award for Business Woman of the Year in San Mateo County from Redwood City Chamber of Commerce and the Pride Award from the peninsula Republican Assembly. Soroptomists International of Redwood City named her “Woman of Distinction” in 1988. She is also an active volunteer in the Marina and Recreation Association, 4-H Scholarship Fund, Jr. Grand National achievement awards, Navy League, Sea Scouts, Casa de Redwood Senior Home, Padua Dining Room and the San Mateo County Development Association.
