As Executive Director of the Child Care Coordinating Council, MARY PETSCHE acts as an advocate and educator for children and their families. Building on a base which in 1980 provided only 30 subsidized child care slots countywide, Ms. Petsche enlisted public & private funding to expand this system to 300 slots. The Employer-Sponsored Child Care Project represents her efforts to combine public & private sectors’ involvement in child care issues. She is Vice President, Resource & Information, of the California Association for the Education of Young Children’s Executive Board, and serves as a member of a number of professional groups. Mary is a parent of 2 and new grandparent of a two month old boy.
